Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8:00 am – 4:00 pm). Location: Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Join the Estates Management Team to maintain and develop the Trust’s substantial estate at one of the country’s foremost Teaching Foundation Trusts.

Main duties of the job

• Maintain the Trust’s building fabric, engineering plant, building services and equipment in an efficient, economic and safe manner, in accordance with Health & Safety and other relevant regulations.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties to ensure acceptable cleanliness of workshop and plant rooms.
• Operate steam raising boiler plant, rotating duties in a team to cover this area.
• Undertake unsupervised minor repairs and maintenance across the site.
• Inspect plant and equipment regularly and promptly report irregularities.

Person specification

Qualifications

• GCSE C/4 or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualification (Key skills level 2).
• An engineering background or qualification.

Experience

• Experience in building services maintenance environment.
• Ability to safely and competently carry out work or other trades.

Further Training

• Basic Health & Safety.
• 18th Edition Awareness Training.
• First Aid.
• Boiler house, Pressure Systems and Pressure Management Training.
• Portable Appliance Testing.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work to tight and conflicting priorities.
