This is a Bank (0‑hours) position, where work is offered based on study schedules and clinic demand.
Location: Leeds
Work Mode: Office‑based job at our Drapers Yard Clinical Research Unit, just a 7‑minute walk from the train station
Availability: You will need to be available to work 5 days over 7. Shifts may include day, twilight night shifts and weekends
Hours: During busier periods, you could work up to 37 hours per week; however, the number of hours offered can vary from week to week depending on operational needs.
WHO YOU ARE
You may have built your experience in hospitality, retail, customer service or another fast‑paced, people‑focused operational environment. You don’t need a scientific background or a degree. If you have great attention to detail and are practical, curious and keen to learn, we’ll provide full training to develop the technical skills you need.
Requirements
- A good standard of general education, including Maths & English
- The ability to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

ON A NORMAL DAY, YOU WILL…
No two days are the same at the Leeds Clinical Research Unit. Depending on the studies running, you will support different stages of Phase I clinical trials, working alongside nurses, doctors and fellow technicians. You will play a hands‑on role in ensuring studies are delivered safely, accurately and on time. Your day‑to‑day activities may include:
- Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, body weight, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings
- Preparation and accurate recording of ECGs/Holters
- Collection and processing of biological samples as specified in the protocol and ensure the proper distribution of those samples
- Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants
- Assist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient working and study environment
- Accurately record all research data obtained or observed
- Assist with QC of source documents and case report forms
Everything you do contributes to one shared goal: ensuring each study is conducted to the highest quality standards. You will see clinical research happening in real time and understand how new medicines move from development to patients.
