Qualifications
- High School diploma or high school equivalent required
- Bus Driver’s license / CDL license required
- Supervisory references preferred
- Positive employment history preferred
- SLED/criminal background review required
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Salary
$18.20 per hour base salary with opportunities for overtime

Job Status
At-will employee, subject to random drug and alcohol testing and pre-employment screening.

Job Duties
- Obeys all laws
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
- Maintains discipline when students are on bus
- Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority
- Keeps assigned bus clean
- Keeps to assigned schedule
- Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
- Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
- Discharges students only at authorized stops
- Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips
- Transports only authorized students
- Reports all accidents and completes required reports
- Provides time, mileage and route reports as requested by supervisor
- Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus
- Checks the bus before and after each trip
- Adheres to district drug/alcohol testing policy and procedures
- Reports any condition which may jeopardize safe transportation
- Performs other related duties as required
