Location & Territory

Field‑based across Scotland and North England. Frequent travel to customer sites in the region with home‑based administration supported by internal sales.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Sales Manager. Works closely with: Internal Sales Counterpart (joint account management & support).

Role Purpose

Drive growth by delivering tailored tooling solutions to B2B customers across the Scotland region. Act as a trusted consultant by combining hands‑on tooling knowledge with sales capability to support existing customers and win new business in key sectors such as aerospace, solar, industrial, motorsport, and automotive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a territory pipeline, ensuring coverage of both accounts and new prospects.
  • Conduct site visits and customer consultations to understand technical needs.
  • Recommend appropriate tooling solutions based on application, budget, and timeframe.
  • Collaborate with internal sales to quote and close business.
  • Develop sector‑specific expertise in target industries (e.g. aerospace, solar).
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends; feed insights back to the business.
  • Attend trade shows, customer demos, and supplier training as required.
  • Use CRM tools to manage pipeline, activity, and forecasts accurately.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in B2B field or technical sales, ideally within military or commercial aerospace sectors or proven experience selling into high‑compliance, engineering‑led environments such as defence or aviation.
  • Solid understanding of tooling applications, including crimping/cutting tools, torque tools, power tools, or similar.
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to engineers, buyers, and other business personas.
  • Commercial acumen – able to sell based on value, not just price.
  • Self‑motivated and organised – comfortable managing a large geographical territory.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Comfortable using CRM and digital tools to manage workload.
