Diesel Fitter

About the Role

Diesel Fitter required for a well‑established specialist supplier of hydraulic and electric submersible pumps. The successful candidate will undertake dismantling, repair and fitting services on a range of diesel pumps, gearboxes and engines. The role is suited to someone with a background in marine or HGV fitting, who has completed a mechanical apprenticeship and who is based within a commutable distance of Cullompton, Exeter.

Key Responsibilities

• Split working between the company workshop and customer sites
• Dismantle, diagnose, repair and fit diesel pumps and engines
• Undertake repair work in the workshop on pumps, gearboxes and engines
• Visit customer sites across Exeter and surrounding areas as required
• Attend callouts for breakdowns as per the company rota
• Strip, repair and fit mechanical components

Qualifications & Requirements

• Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering or completed a mechanical apprenticeship
• Previous experience in diesel fitting, ideally on pumps or engines
• Experience in the marine sector is a bonus
• Based within a commutable distance of Cullompton, Exeter
• Full driving licence – non‑negotiable

Remuneration & Benefits

• Rate: £17.30 per hour (£35,084 per annum)
• Full time, 39 hour week – Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 15:30
• Overtime available
• 33 days holiday including public holidays
