As a leading Further Education college in the West Midlands, we are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team on fixed-term contracts until June 2027, with both full-time and part-time hours available.

This role is term time only (39 weeks). Please note that the salary advertised is based on 37 hours per week, starting from the start of the Academic Year. Your salary will be calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and the hours worked.

Assessment Centre – Thursday 4th June – 9am – 12pm

With interactive activities including an interview, team task, and written exercise, it’s a fantastic chance to showcase your skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in supporting learners within the classroom
  • Focus on developing students’ literacy, language, and numeracy skills
  • Work closely with students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Ensure learners can access personalised learning opportunities aligned with their individual goals
  • Act as a central point of contact, providing consistent guidance and support throughout their educational journey
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one support
  • Lead small group sessions to reinforce understanding and build confidence
  • Provide note-taking assistance to help learners stay fully engaged with their studies

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Be adaptable and resilient in a dynamic educational environment
  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Be able to work effectively with students who have a wide range of emotional and physical needs
  • Hold GCSE in English and Maths at grade C or above, or a recognised equivalent qualification (FS Level 2)
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 subject qualification
  • Hold a qualification related to supporting others, health and social care, or teaching (desirable)
