We are looking for experienced *female support workers to assist with supporting our client (21yrs) living in Frome, with personal care, food and drink preparation, moving and handling including use of a full hoist and assistance to help her in accessing the community and leisure activities.
Our client is a young lady with Cerebral Palsy and Autism and is passionate about living. She uses an AAC device for communication. She enjoys swimming, going to music events, her holiday home in Bournemouth and going out for food and various other events. The shifts can be single handed or double handed. Our client has a team of treating professionals involved in her care which support with advice and recommendations to maintain both her physical ability and functional independence where possible.
Our client is transitioning from college back home as of July 2026. Training and support will be provided in the role as needed. Experience with a WAV is preferable but not essential, confidence driving 1 hour plus is also preferable.
Working hours:
4 Posts available, these contracted hours can be discussed further with scope for more or less for the right candidates.
32 hours (x1 24 hour and x1 day shift)
We are looking for fixed shift patterns which can be discussed, but with some interest in flexible working for covering any additional shifts.
Monday: 1x Carer 24 hours
Tuesday: 1x Carer 24 hour
1x Carer 24 hour shift
Thursday: 1x Carer 24 hours
Friday: 1x Carer 24 hours
Saturday: 1x Carer 24 hours
Sunday (Every other week): 1x Carer 24 hours
Rates of pay:
- Clear DBS Check
- Full Driving Licence
- Experience of Moving & Handling – to have the ability to use a full hoist system single handed
- Demonstration of good communication skills
- An empathetic and compassionate personality
- AAC Device experience or willingness for additional training if needed
- NVQ 2 or 3 or an equivalent in care
- Experience of driving a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (25 years and older for insurance)
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided.
