Aspire People are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a school located in Newark, Nottinghamshire. This role is full‑time on a temp‑to‑perm basis starting immediately, with working hours 08:30 – 15:30. The assistant will work 1:1 or in small groups with students who have various learning difficulties and special educational needs.
The role requires a high level of resilience and an energetic approach, with experience working with children and young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs.
Responsibilities
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students.
- Support pupils consistently whilst responding to their individual needs.
- Create a safe learning environment for pupils.
- De‑escalate behaviour that challenges through the formation of trusting relationships.
Requirements
- Recent and relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND/SEMH.
- Passion for education.
