Debt Recovery Apprentice (Level 3)

Company: Clarion Solicitors Limited
Apply for the Debt Recovery Apprentice (Level 3)
Location: Leeds
Job Description:

Our Debt Recovery team is looking to hire a Debt Recovery Apprentice. If you’re looking to start your career within the legal sector and want to gain hands‑on experience whilst studying towards a qualification, then this could be the opportunity for you.

The role

Our highly regarded Debt Recovery team works with businesses to help recover unpaid invoices and outstanding debts in a fair and professional way. This is not a bailiff or doorstep collections role – you will work within a professional legal environment alongside experienced legal professionals and clients. Here is a snapshot of what you can expect to work across on a day-to-day basis in this varied role:

  • Assisting with opening and progressing debt recovery matters
  • Drafting letters and emails to clients and debtors
  • Liaising with clients, courts, solicitors, and third-party organisations by phone and email
  • Updating case management systems and maintaining accurate file records
  • Supporting fee earners with court proceedings and enforcement action
  • Assisting with payment arrangements and settlement discussions
  • Managing deadlines and helping ensure matters progress smoothly
  • Developing an understanding of debt recovery and civil litigation processes

You’ll gain valuable experience in a fast‑paced legal environment whilst developing highly transferable skills in communication, organisation, problem solving, and attention to detail.

You’ll work whilst studying towards a Level 3 Debt Collection Specialist apprenticeship qualification alongside your role, with 20% of your week dedicated to your studies.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is motivated, organised, and interested in developing a career within professional services. You should be eager to learn, comfortable and confident communicating with others, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.

To enjoy working at Clarion and thrive in the firm you will need to be professional, adaptable, organised, and able to manage a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment.

Applicants should have at least two A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above, as well as maths and English GCSEs at 4 or above. No prior legal knowledge or Debt Recovery experience is required as full training and support will be provided throughout the apprenticeship.

The role is based in Leeds with a requirement to be in the office 5 days per week.

The team

The Debt Recovery team at Clarion helps businesses recover unpaid invoices and improve cash flow. Working with clients of all sizes, the team provides practical, commercial support to help businesses get paid quickly and efficiently. The team is supportive, collaborative and focused on delivering excellent service, making it a great place to start your career.
