You will be working with a well-established regional general building contractor with a strong reputation for delivering refurbishment and maintenance projects across the North West. The business has a solid pipeline of work within the education sector and is known for its hands‑on, collaborative approach to project delivery.
Your new role
As a Freelance Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of a school refurbishment project in Lancaster. You will oversee subcontractors and direct labour, manage programme and quality, and maintain strict health and safety standards within a live school environment. The role is site‑based and requires a proactive manager who is comfortable running refurbishment works through to completion.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Previous experience managing refurbishment projects, ideally within the education sector.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications as a minimum.
- Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
- An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
You’ll be well organised, an effective communicator, and confident managing multiple trades on a live site.
