Overview

Location: Stoke, Newcastle-under-Lyme.Hours: 24 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 6am – 10am & Friday 6am -2pm).

Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well‑known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Salary: £16,361 per annum.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that daily schedules are adhered to and the assigned areas meet the required standards.
  • Contribute as part of a team and assist in meeting the department’s Key Performance Indicators.
  • Identify areas that have a potential associated risk to food safety and raise an action accordingly.
  • Report defects or potential hazards to the Hygiene Controller / Coordinator.
  • Issue and manage deliveries of work wear from the Laundry.
  • Assist manufacturing in reduction of waste and the removal of bakery and returns waste.
  • Clean and pick litter of the site perimeter.
  • Replenish and clean facilities.
  • Clean the canteen and surrounding area.

The Right Person

  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations and the safe use of chemicals.
  • Experience with hazards/near‑miss reporting.
  • Demonstrate pride and passion, contributing to a great working environment and quality site standards.
  • Able to provide a high standard of work, assisting departments cross‑functionally.
  • Experience in a cleaning role, preferably industrial, with high standards, good attention to detail and a willingness to work to rigorous procedures.
