Cancer Services MDT Coordinator

The role of the Cancer Services MDT Co‑ordinator is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Cancer Services Department. This includes collecting, recording, analysing, interpreting and reporting statistical data required for Welsh Assembly Government monitoring of the Service and Financial Framework (SaFF) annual targets, and providing an accurate, timely record of the entire patient pathway on the National Cancer Database.

Main duties

  • Manage, coordinate, organise and deliver designated cancer site‑specific Multi‑disciplinary Team meetings related to the presentation, diagnosis, staging and definitive management of newly diagnosed cancer patients in Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust.
  • Provide cover for other Cancer MDT coordinators as required.

Welsh language ability is desirable but not essential; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent / NVQ Level III; RSA II / III qualifications or equivalent demonstrable typing skills.
  • Experience with computer systems including databases and spreadsheets.

Skills

  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload for effective and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Ability to act on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the Caldicott Principles.

Experience

  • Experience with computer systems including databases and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in communicating and working with staff at all levels.
  • NHS experience in a hospital environment.
