TPD for Paediatric Surgery, West of Scotland

Job Overview

Hours: 1 PT (4 hours per week)

Duration: Fixed-Term/Secondment – 3 years in the first instance

Location: Flexible – office, remote, or hybrid within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of national training programmes within the Scotland Deanery.
• Contribute to other operational and strategic work within the wider specialty grouping.
• Interact with trainees, trainers, and external bodies to support and enhance postgraduate education regionally and nationally.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Trained doctors in Scotland in a substantive NHS consultant post.
• Holder of MB ChB or equivalent, and listed on the GMC’s General and Specialist Registers.
• Broad understanding of GMC and Scotland Deanery quality frameworks.
• Practical experience of medical education and training in the NHS.
• Must confirm employer support for a Service Level Agreement (SLA) or equivalent before interview.
