Support Worker – Children’s Contracts

Full-time | Permanent (40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a dedicated and growing Children’s Contracts team across Kent. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum‑seeking young people, as they transition into independent living. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive long‑term outcomes. Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will manage your own caseload and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred support across a diverse geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of young people within supported accommodation
- Provide practical and emotional support to those living independently
- Support the development of essential life skills such as budgeting, education, and daily living
- Work in line with individual pathway plans, ensuring progress and regular updates
- Liaise with social workers, local authorities, and external stakeholders
- Promote safeguarding and ensure all concerns are appropriately reported
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Conduct property visits to ensure health & safety and accommodation standards are met
- Support young people during move‑ins, including inductions and settling into accommodation
- Participate in service development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide on‑call support where required
About You
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and making a meaningful difference.
Essential
- Previous experience working with young people within a care or support setting
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
- Willingness to travel regularly across a wide geographic area
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Knowledge of the Children’s Act and relevant social care legislation
