Salary & Hours

Salary: £30,188–£34,452 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional)

Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional

About the School

Liberton High School is a non‑denominational secondary school serving approximately 900 pupils in South East Edinburgh. The school is working in partnership with associated primary schools to serve the local community and is moving into a new purpose‑built Community Campus due in Summer 2026. The leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Deputy Head Teachers, and a Business Manager, with 65 teaching staff and 26 support staff.

Role Overview

The Pupil Support Officer will work alongside the support for learning teacher within the Qualifications Hub, providing additional support to families facing cost‑of‑living challenges and supporting identified young people within the equity cohort.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the support for learning teacher within the Qualifications Hub.
  • Provide additional support to families facing cost‑of‑living challenges.
  • Support identified young people within the equity cohort.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check if spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years.
