Position Overview

A Personalisation Monitoring Officer will join the Personalisation Team to audit, monitor and close Direct Payment accounts and Supported Managed Accounts, ensuring public funds are used appropriately while keeping choice, control and wellbeing at the heart of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit Direct Payment and Supported Managed Accounts by reviewing bank statements, invoices, payroll and timesheets, ensuring spending aligns with support plans and identifying discrepancies.
  • Explain audit outcomes and recover unspent money and perform closedowns, ensuring compliance with the Care Act and other legislation.
  • Maintain clear records and structured case notes.
  • Liaise with service users, family members, appointees, agents and solicitors to provide clear explanations and support during audits.
  • Perform final audits when a Direct Payment ends, confirm balances and arrange return of unused funds to the local authority.

Requirements

  • Speak English to an appropriate standard.
  • Provide a Basic Criminal Record Check.
  • Give a reasonable account of any significant periods (6 months or more in the past 3 years) of time living abroad.
  • Start work with all necessary legal documents such as a valid visa; the council does not possess a Home Office license and cannot provide sponsorship for skilled or temporary migrant workers.
