Position
This is a strong foundational IT role with clear progression opportunities. It offers exposure to enterprise‑scale IT operations, security‑driven environments, and mature governance frameworks, without requiring unsafe levels of individual authority. The role supports Group IT and Information Security by keeping the operational fundamentals strong, visible and auditable.

Reporting to the Group IT and Security Manager, the role focuses on the effective day‑to‑day management of end‑user devices, peripherals and user access, working closely with Xalient’s IT support partner and internal IT and Information Security leadership.
This position does not own core platforms or architectures. Instead, it provides structured operational support, governance and assurance across endpoint environments, ensuring devices, access and supporting controls are implemented consistently, securely and auditable across the business.
The role works alongside Group IT and Information Security to support the wider business, elevate issues appropriately.
Hybrid working applies, with onsite presence in the Leeds office expected only occasionally.
What you’ll be doing
Endpoint and Device Management
- Manage corporate laptops, mobile devices and peripherals across the organisation.
- Support device provisioning, replacement, refresh and decommissioning in line with approved standards.
- Assist with endpoint configuration and upkeep through central management tools, escalating complex changes where required.
User Access and Identity Support
- Support joiner, mover and leaver processes in collaboration with HR, Group IT and the IT support partner.
- Provision and remove user access in accordance with approved role profiles and least‑privilege principles.
- Perform regular access checks and contribute to audit evidence for access reviews.
Information Security and Assurance Support
- Assist with operational security hygiene across endpoints, including patching status, encryption and device compliance.
- Support evidence gathering for security audits and assurance activities such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
Working with IT Partners
- Act as a day‑to‑day liaison with Xalient’s IT support partner for endpoint and user issues.
- Raise, track and follow up incidents and requests through agreed processes.
- Support escalations where issues impact users, security posture or audit commitments.
Peripheral and Office Technology Support
- Ensure desks and meeting spaces in the Leeds office are suitably equipped and operational.
- Support printers, displays, docking stations and conferencing peripherals.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation of processes, device standards and operational practices.
- Contribute to the internal knowledge base and improve clarity for users and IT colleagues.
Requirements
What you’ll need
- Experience supporting end‑user IT environments in a Windows and macOS workplace.
- Experience managing laptops, mobiles and peripherals in an enterprise setting.
- Familiarity with identity and device management concepts, including MDM and user access lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments from an operational support perspective.
- Experience working alongside third‑party IT support or managed service providers.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of auditability and process.
- Clear communication skills and confidence escalating when appropriate.
- Ability to work independently while remaining aligned to defined authority boundaries.
Exposure to
- Endpoint management and MDM tooling
- Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint administration support
- Security tooling such as endpoint protection or web security platforms (support and evidence contribution)
