Job Overview

Mechanical Project Manager required for an award‑winning HVAC company with regional offices throughout the UK. The role will be focused on managing projects from initial inception to handover, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on time. The position requires managing a team of at least two direct PAYE Installation Engineers, as well as additional sub‑contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects from inception to handover, including site visits, surveys, designs, estimations, quotations, negotiation and purchase of materials, supervision of labour, commissioning, client training and O&M.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
  • Manage a team of at least two direct PAYE Installation Engineers and coordinate with additional sub‑contractors.
  • Deliver large‑scale AHU, Chiller, VRV, VRF, Boiler and ventilation projects.
  • Conduct contract negotiations and maintain commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ project‑management experience delivering large‑scale HVAC projects.
  • Proven experience managing teams of engineers reporting directly to the candidate.
  • Strong technical mastery of AHU, VRV/VRF, ducting, boiler and chiller replacements & upgrades.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and autonomy skills.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and MS Project.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Preferred residency in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire or Essex.

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic Salary £60,000 – £70,000 (DOE)

Location & Working Arrangements

Location: Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Essex. The role is 50% working from home/office and 50% site‑based.
