Retail Security Officer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

Pay: £13.77 per hour

Hours: 48 hours on rolling shift pattern – predominantly days

Responsibilities

• Active Patrols: Regularly patrol designated areas to detect and deter suspicious activity, ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone.
• Thorough Searches: Conduct detailed searches, following comprehensive company policies and procedures.
• Detailed Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork related to security incidents and observations.
• Effective Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors and various external authorities to report incidents and coordinate responses to security issues.
• Exceptional Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service to employees, visitors, and guests with professionalism and courtesy.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence.
• First Aid at Work qualification (desirable).
• CCTV Public Space Surveillance licence (desirable).
• Previous retail security, loss prevention or door experience.
• Experience with CCTV and control room environments.
• Knowledge of UK retail crime trends.
• Customer service or hospitality background.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
