Role Description

Residential Support Worker

Salary:£25,949 per annum plus an opportunity to earn an additional £4,200 per annum based on an average of 7 sleep-ins per month

Location: Wrexham

Contract/Hours: Fixed Term for 18 months to cover maternity, Full-time – 37 hours per week (on a rota basis, working days, evenings, overnights and weekends)

If you are unable to commit to the full 37 hours a week part time hours of a minimum 18.5 per week could be considered as part of a job share

A bit about the role

Our Residential Support Worker is an entry level role where you don’t need previous experience or qualifications, we’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your ‘foot in the door’ and allows you to explore the field of Social Care and decide if it’s the right fit for you, whilst gaining practical experience.

You’llcreate a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It’s key that they stay safe and healthyand can reach their full potential.

What you do couldmake a difference

You’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You’ll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Ideally you’ll:

  • Understand how to engage with young people.
  • Have a positive approach and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
  • Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
  • Hold a full UK driving license, for the purposes of transportation of service users to appointments and school runs.

Tan y Dre Residential Services is a 4-bed therapeutic residential home, where we provide medium to long term care for young people aged 9-18 years old with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The aim of this role is to support them with their transition in to safe and happy adults.

Our children receive a bespoke intervention tailored to their individual needs supported by a team of staff who are fully committed to understating and meeting the child’s needs and reduces the identified barriers.

Our therapeutic model will provide an environment where they will receive positive experiences of reliable, consistent parenting through providing specific and structured care, with very clear consistent boundaries.

Our aim is to provide opportunities and experiences that widen the individuals sense of belonging through our individualised support.
