Job Overview
As a Support Worker at Artek UK, you will assist individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and community engagement. You will promote dignity, independence, and well-being while working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care such as washing, dressing, and toileting, where needed.
- Support clients in daily activities including meal preparation, medication, and appointments.
- Promote social inclusion through community activities, hobbies, or group events.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with service users.
- Assist with household tasks (cleaning, shopping, etc.) to ensure a safe living environment.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for care plans and daily logs.
- Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour to supervisors or healthcare teams.
- Respect client dignity, privacy, and cultural values always.
Required Skills
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Good communication skills (spoken and written English).
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs.
- Teamwork and the ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required for entry-level roles.
- Preferred: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience in a care or support setting is an advantage but full training is provided.
- Enhanced DBS check required (conducted by employer).
- Valid UK driving licence (preferred, especially for community-based roles).
Working Conditions
