Job Overview

As a Support Worker at Artek UK, you will assist individuals with daily living tasks, personal care, and community engagement. You will promote dignity, independence, and well-being while working closely with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care such as washing, dressing, and toileting, where needed.
  • Support clients in daily activities including meal preparation, medication, and appointments.
  • Promote social inclusion through community activities, hobbies, or group events.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with service users.
  • Assist with household tasks (cleaning, shopping, etc.) to ensure a safe living environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports for care plans and daily logs.
  • Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour to supervisors or healthcare teams.
  • Respect client dignity, privacy, and cultural values always.

Required Skills

  • Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written English).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs.
  • Teamwork and the ability to work independently.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • No formal qualifications required for entry-level roles.
  • Preferred: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a care or support setting is an advantage but full training is provided.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (conducted by employer).
  • Valid UK driving licence (preferred, especially for community-based roles).

Working Conditions

  • Rotational shifts including weekends, evenings, or overnight (depending on role).
