The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This role offers practical on-the-job training, opportunities for development and the chance to work in a busy, well-respected hotel kitchen producing high-quality seasonal dishes for residents and guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook dishes to the standards set by the Head Chef, ensuring consistency, presentation and portion control.
  • Manage a designated section of the kitchen during service, including mise en place and preparation for service periods.
  • Support junior kitchen staff through coaching and supervision to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in line with hotel procedures and HACCP requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels for your section, assist with deliveries and ensure correct storage and rotation of produce.
  • Assist with menu planning, specials and portion costing as required by the Head Chef.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to ensure smooth service and excellent guest experiences.
  • Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate department promptly.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen at Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie level preferred.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to achieve) and understanding of safe food handling practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high culinary and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and remain calm during busy service periods.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota.

  • Pay: Competitive and dependent on experience. Live‑in accommodation may be available at a live‑in wage.

  • Additional pay: Monthly Tips/Gratuities.
