About The Role

NESO is seeking a highly skilled, passionate and experienced Corporate Data Manager. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to engage with corporate directorates, understand their data priorities and requirements, and shape the delivery of data capabilities across directorates and their priority programmes. Working in collaboration with DD&T Delivery Teams and aligned with the NESO data standards framework, the role will focus on building strong relationships with Data Owners, Data Champions, and wider Digital, Data & Technology teams.

Reporting to the Data Partnering Senior Manager within the central Data function for NESO, this key role will contribute to continuous improvements in the data partnering function, ensuring the data team engages pragmatically with directorates and derives value to support NESO’s strategic objectives. The candidate will provide thought leadership to drive a digital‑first mindset and manage initiatives that enhance data governance and quality.

The position is based in Warwick, with occasional travel to other NESO offices (mainly Wokingham). It offers hybrid working, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office. Both full‑time and part‑time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements, are welcome.

Key Accountabilities

  • Actively manage data workstreams within NESO project initiatives, delivering data requirements in line with data policies and standards. Oversee delivery teams and coordinate with third‑party service providers.
  • Provide hands‑on data stewardship support to business data owners, ensuring compliance with data standards for governance, catalogue, monitoring, sharing and quality improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with stakeholders across Digital, Data and Technology and broader NESO partnership to meet data needs and exceed expectations.
  • Drive Data Culture and Literacy across NESO to enhance understanding of data concepts and enable effective data use.
  • Identify and address risks and efficiency opportunities in data initiatives.
  • Ensure all risks and issues associated with data‑related activities from strategic programmes are captured and managed appropriately.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on data capabilities to support engagement across business initiatives.

About You

  • BA/BS degree in a data‑related field or equivalent work experience in Data Management.
  • Experience leading a high‑performing team, developing talent and fostering a performance‑management culture that delivers value.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain high‑impact relationships with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Experience with corporate data processes in HR, Finance and Procurement.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and best practice standards.
  • Experience designing and implementing new data‑management capabilities or improving existing ones, ensuring adherence to standards and supplier management best practice.
  • Experience in roadmap and delivery planning.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate cross‑functional discussions and resolve complex situations to develop practical solutions.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information appropriately.
  • Awareness of energy industry challenges and the role of data in addressing them.

What You’ll Get

A competitive salary of £62,000 – £72,000 based on experience, plus a bonus of up to 15% of salary for stretch performance. Beneficiaries receive 28 days annual leave, a competitive contributory pension scheme with a company match of up to 12% of your contribution, and other benefits.
