Overview
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0–5 years.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and development.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress to support individual learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for all children.
- Support the daily routines of the nursery, including meal times, nappy changes, and outdoor play.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all policies and safeguarding procedures are followed.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
- Experience supporting children’s learning and development in line with EYFS standards.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of child development and early years practice.
- Ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Reliable, proactive, and passionate about supporting young children.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Educational requirements
- Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent in Childcare).
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.
- Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
