About The Company

Our client is an established and growing commercial property agency with deep roots in Teddington and the surrounding South West London and Surrey markets. They advise clients across the full spectrum of commercial real estate, acting on freehold and leasehold transactions, investment disposals and acquisitions, and occupier requirements across all asset classes.

As the commercial offering grows, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven individual to lead the department, build on the existing client base, and establish the firm as the go-to name for commercial agency across their core geography and beyond.

The Opportunity

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a driven agency professional to take ownership of a growing commercial department within a well-regarded independent firm. You will have the platform to build a team, shape the culture, and make a genuine commercial impact — with the freedom and backing that comes with a senior leadership role in an entrepreneurial business.

We are particularly interested in hearing from investment agents currently operating in Central London who are looking to step into a broader, leadership-focused role with direct equity in their success, and from Senior Surveyors or Associate Directors at mid-to-large agencies who are ready to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Direct Fee Earning

  • Drive personal fee income with a target of £150,000 per annum, acting as the senior fee earner within the team.
  • Win and manage instructions across all commercial asset classes including investment, office, retail, industrial, leisure and mixed‑use.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with property owners, investors, developers, occupiers, and professional introducers across TW, Surrey, South West London, and national markets.
  • Lead on freehold disposal and acquisition mandates, bringing a strong investment background and network to the role.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams, service lines, and market opportunities consistent with the firm’s growth ambitions.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, manage, and grow the Commercial Agency team to achieve a collective fee income target of £400,000 per annum.
  • Recruit, mentor and develop commercial surveyors and support staff, fostering a high‑performance, collegiate team culture.
  • Set clear individual targets, provide regular performance reviews and support the professional development of all team members.
  • Represent the commercial department at board level, contributing to business planning, budgeting and strategic decision‑making.

Operations & Standards

  • Ensure all instructions and client reporting are handled to the highest professional standards, producing coherent, well‑presented reports and advice.
  • Maintain compliance with RICS professional standards, AML obligations and internal firm policies across all commercial activity.
  • Collaborate with the residential and other departments within the firm to maximise cross‑referral opportunities and present a joined‑up client offering.
  • Manage and oversee the marketing and presentation of commercial properties, ensuring market‑leading quality across all channels.

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Qualified surveyor (MRICS) with demonstrable experience in commercial agency, ideally with a strong grounding in investment.
  • Proven track record of fee generation and client relationship management across commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience of working across multiple asset classes and a sound understanding of freehold investment principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and persuasive client reports and correspondence.
  • Self‑motivated, target‑driven and commercially astute, with the interpersonal skills to lead and inspire a team.
