Multiskilled Maintenance Technician

Overview

Multiskilled Maintenance Technician specializing in Manufacturing for our Maintenance Department in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. This is a permanent on-site position, working 35 hours per week with flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective, emergency and predictive maintenance to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Apply strong electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot issues, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement.
• Drive high standards of workmanship by performing maintenance activities using diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications.
• Support equipment failure analysis and contribute feedback to improve preventive maintenance plans.
• Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying hazards, following safe systems of work, and promoting a proactive safety culture.
• Lead and guide team members with less experience, acting as a technical resource and supporting knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with peers and support teams to resolve constraints, enhance processes, and optimize material flow.
• Participate actively in local TPM initiatives to improve quality, safety, workflow, and team capability.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical systems.

• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to safe working practices, quality standards, and continuous learning.
• Education/Experience: High school diploma, secondary education certificate, or equivalent experience aligned with applicable regulations.
• Electrically biased multiskilled or mechatronic background (essential).
• Significant hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of assembly line and machine tool maintenance.
• Advantageous experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) and beneficial exposure to software integration and fault-finding.
