Job Description:

Igne is seeking a Field Technician to join the Construction Materials Testing Division in Bristol. In this role, you’ll work hands‑on with ground and soil samples, using the latest technology to help our construction sector clients identify cost‑effective solutions for their building projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • On‑site sampling and testing of various construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt).
  • Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets.
  • Liaising with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures.
  • Working within in‑house quality assurance systems.
  • Maintaining high levels of health and safety in line with company policies.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Manual handling and physical activity daily – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg.
  • Confident to work in a team environment.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and able to organise your own workload.
  • Desirable: previous experience in a UKAS accredited testing environment.
  • Desirable: knowledge of testing standards and processes.
  • Desirable: CSCS card.

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic salary circa £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
