The role
- It is anticipated that the training programme will be 42 months, including classroom and site-based learning, with the possibility of a full-time role on completion.
- Support the safe and efficient day-to-day running of marine activities within the harbour.
- Learn how port operations work, including vessel movements, communications, safety procedures and marine support services.
- Work alongside experienced marine professionals and develop practical knowledge in a live operational environment.
- Contribute to high standards of safety, teamwork and customer service.
What we’re looking for
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age as there will be a requirement to work some night shifts.
- A genuine interest in the marine, maritime or port operations sector.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong sense of responsibility.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A calm and professional approach with a strong focus on safety.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme and developing a career in the industry.
- Aptitude testing will form part of the selection process.
Remuneration
In return, we are offering:
- A basic starting salary £16,692 per annum for 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days holiday + statutory days
