Tradewind are recruiting for SEMH Behaviour Support Assistants in Cardiff (starting September 2026).
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support, focusing on behavioural guidance and emotional well‑being.
- Encourage an inclusive atmosphere where all pupils feel safe, understood, and motivated to learn.
- Support children with a variety of needs such as SEMH, ADHD, and anxiety in a varied day‑to‑day setting.
- Help implement individual strategies that promote positive choices and emotional development.
- Build rapport with pupils, staff, and families to create a strong and united support system.
- Support students to improve their communication, social skills, and emotional resilience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Connect well with children and build trusting relationships with ease.
- Bring a calm, positive, and encouraging approach to behaviour management.
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with both young people and adults.
- Have a solid level of spoken and written English.
- Ideally have experience in SEND, mental health support, or a care‑related role (though not essential).
- Be available full‑time (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm).
- Be registered with the EWC (or be willing to be assisted with registration).
- Have an Enhanced DBS check.
Salary: £90.00 – £95.00 per day.
