The Opportunity
Consortium X is recruiting an experienced Ordnance Engineering Manager to support a high-priority UK defence capability programme delivering directly to operational need. The role sits within an Integrated Project Team responsible for the rapid procurement and trials delivery of an Air Capability.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing engineering management support across the programme, integrating with the customer Delivery Team and industry suppliers.
- Producing and assuring engineering documentation across the trials and wider project scope, tailored to operational needs.
- Engaging with assurance authorities and managing engineering compliance against OME, DOSR and DSA regulatory frameworks.
- Operating within a rapid procurement environment, balancing technical rigour with delivery pace.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience engaging with assurance authorities and managing engineering within a regulated defence environment.
- Working knowledge of DE&S Engineering Policy.
- Direct experience of working with OME, DOSR and/or DSA Regulations.
- Proven delivery of trials for OME, ideally including live-firing or range-based capability demonstration.
- Active UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Sole UK national status.
Desirable
- Background of working on a Gift in Kind (GiK) project or other rapid procurement initiative.
- Experience with the DE&S Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS).
- Previous embedded experience within a DE&S Delivery Team.
- Air Defence, missile system or short-range air defence capability background.
