Our partner, BAE Systems, is seeking an experienced Welder to join their growing team in Barrow on a 12‑month contract, offering competitive rates for both locals and those willing to commute from further afield. As part of a specialist team, you’ll be working on the latest generation of Submarines – either Astute or Dreadnought Projects. Pay Rates

BAE Systems offers a range of pay rates for PAYE and Umbrella contractors, depending on your allocated shifts and the distance you’re travelling to reach the Barrow site. The following rates apply to people living more than 39 miles from the base.

PAYE – Matchtech

• Barrow shift patterns:
  • Hourly Rate
    • Standard shift: £28.10
    • 3 on 4 off: £32.12
    • Night shift: £34.73
  • Hourly Holiday accrual or paid in advance
    • Standard shift: £4.09
    • 3 on 4 off: £4.67
    • Night shift: £5.05
  • Total hourly rate inclusive of holiday
    • Standard shift: £32.19
    • 3 on 4 off: £36.79
    • Night shift: £39.78
  • Weekday & Saturday overtime: £32.65 (inclusive of holiday)
  • Sunday overtime: £43.54 (inclusive of holiday)

PAYE – Umbrella

• Barrow shift patterns:
  • Standard shift: £37.75
  • 3 on 4 off: £43.07
  • Night shift: £46.52
  • Weekday and Saturday Overtime: £38.68
  • Sunday Overtime: £51.25
