Clarion Corvus Trust is a multi‑academy trust of mainstream primary and secondary schools in Norfolk and Suffolk. We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in our Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for SEMH needs at Watton schools: Watton Westfield Infant and Nursery School and Watton Junior School.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in the SRB in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures, and in line with the School/Academy Service Level Agreement with Norfolk County Council.

This role is part of a purpose‑built SEMH SRB that opened in September 2024. The successful candidate will receive specialised training with the support of the local authority.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, specialist support and safeguarding for pupils within the SRB.
  • Enable pupils to make accelerated progress and meet their special educational needs.
  • Support the lead teacher, teacher or HLTA to deliver a curriculum addressing SEMH needs, including small‑group work and interventions.
  • Create a sense of safety through routines and emotional support to ensure all pupils’ needs are met.
  • Reflective practitioner, proactive in your role.
  • Collaborate with a team of teaching and support staff to maximise professional development and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in supporting children with SEMH needs and trauma‑informed practice.
  • Ability to create a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
