Templer HomeBuild (THB) has a great opportunity for anOperationsAdministrator to join its growing customer serviceteam based in Newton Abbot.
Working across the various compliance, reactive repairs, refurbishment, painting and planned workstreams that THB deliver for Teign Housing residents, you will provide essential admin-based support to our Contracts Managers and the Planning/Scheduling team to help maintain and consistently improve the smooth and efficient operational delivery of our maintenance services.
We are looking for someone with excellent IT (specifically excel, word and outlook), confident communication skills (written and verbal), a flair for detail, accuracy, and following things through to completion.

Templer HomeBuild is a unique asset management business, benefiting from integrated systems, procedures, and long‑term partnerships with two large, successful, and supportive organisations: Teign Housing (Housing provider) and Ian Williams (Contractor).
OperationsAdministrator role
Your main responsibility will be to aid the operational teams through completing routine and ad‑hoc administrative and office‑related duties.
Specific tasks will include:
- Creating and issuing bespoke letters to communicate with residents (e.g., sending key information about upcoming works, progress updates, and compliance matters, as well as printing and sending Gas Safety certificates following annual servicing).
- Assisting the scheduling team by booking appointments for planned surveys, gas safety inspections, compliance works, and repairs with residents.
- Creating and maintaining accurate Health and Safety reporting and filing; providing and collating weekly/monthly performance reports to support the operational team.
- Updating the housing systems with stock condition surveys and completions to ensure up‑to‑date and compliant records.
- Issuing task orders to subcontractors and facilitating material purchases.
- Raising and completing work orders on contracts; general database administration.
What will you bring to the OperationsAdministrator role?
- Previous experience of working successfully as part of a team, providing key administrative, communication, and organisational tasks. Experience within the housing, construction, or maintenance sector is advantageous but not essential; we welcome transferable or relatable sector background.
- Excellent IT skills, including the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Mail merge ability is a significant advantage.
- Excellent written literacy skills – able to write professional letters – and effective communication and rapport‑building skills.
- Initiative‑taking, thorough, organised, and methodical approach; enjoys following processes and derives satisfaction from being efficient, accurate, and accountable.
