Site Manager – College Refurbishment Project

Location: Central Birmingham

Salary: Competitive + Package

Contract Type: Permanent / Freelance (depending on candidate)

We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile, state-of-the-art college refurbishment project in the heart of Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a flagship education-sector development involving complex refurbishment, modernisation, and fit-out works within a live environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality project safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operations
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site teams
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme
  • Managing quality control and compliance with project specifications
  • Maintaining high health & safety standards across site
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and senior management
  • Monitoring progress and reporting on site performance
  • Managing logistics and sequencing within a busy city-centre environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment or education projects
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and site management
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certified
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme targets
  • Experience working in live environments is highly desirable
