Are you an experienced Groundworker with a HGV Class 2 licence, looking to work locally? Do you like working outdoors, and have some experience in simple groundworks and installation? If you’re someone who can learn on the job and turn your hand to various manual tasks, then this role could be what you are looking for.

Who are we?

Bauer Media Outdoor are a leading Out of Home media owner operating more than 33,000 advertising sites nationwide. We are a friendly and culture‑led company that values and supports employees to be the best they can be. We also care about the communities we work with and the environment.

A few years ago we brought construction of our advertising sites in‑house and have successfully delivered hundreds of site builds, including new digital units, billboards and large storm installations. We are excited to work on interesting projects next year and are looking for a Groundworker to join our growing team in Dartford.

What will you be doing?

You will work as part of a two‑person crew, spending most of your day breaking up ground and installing or replacing new digital units for local communities on the many contracts we deliver. This involves travelling to sites within the London area. You will have a company HGV vehicle and an attractive salary of £40,000, annual bonus, 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays, opportunities for training and development and fully expensed tools and PPE. The role is physically demanding, requires working at height (mainly on a small step ladder), and you should be a team player, helping and watching your crew partner. You must also be able to commute independently to and from your base depot in Dartford.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Transport digital units from the depot to the installation site via an HGV truck
  • Break ground and install digital units
  • Replace component level parts on digital units

  • Ensure traffic management is in place before starting work, including segregation/prevention measures to keep unauthorized people out of the working area
  • Follow our Health and Safety policy and the site‑specific risk assessments and method statements
  • Correctly use equipment (including working at height) and maintain and keep tools and equipment safe on site

Knowledge, Experience and Attributes

  • Full driving licence with no more than 3 points
  • Class 2 HGV licence
  • CPCS A36 lorry loader hook (novice or above)
  • CPCS Slinger
  • Competency in CAT use
  • NRSWA accreditation to operative standard (training will be provided if you do not have this)
  • CDM knowledge
  • Excavation and sub‑structure knowledge
  • Understanding of RAMS
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Competency in use of power tools such as hydraulic breakers and disc saws

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary of £42,000 – £47,000 per annum
  • Annual bonus up to 8% of your annual salary
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme matched to 8%
  • Life insurance and income protection scheme
  • Healthcare cash plan
  • Cycle to work scheme, season ticket loans and a whole host of discounts across 100s of retailers
  • Social events
