Job Title: Assistant Manager

Function/Department: Retail

Reporting To: Shop Manager

Location: Wetherby

Role Purpose

You will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager, operating and running the shop, managing the shop team, ensuring high standards, accepting and paying out bets, delivering excellent customer service, and overseeing opening and closing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the shop and the shop team.
• Lead the operations in the absence of the Shop Manager: opening and closing the shop, managing and guiding the shop team.
• Maintain cash management procedures and supervise the use of the company Time and Attendance system.
• Drive team performance through clear communication, encouraging ideas for improvement, and keeping shop presentation standards.
• Ensure outstanding customer experience: educate team, accept bets accurately, process transactions through EPOS and other channels.
• Act as a brand ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journey.
• Adhere to all operational, cash management, security procedures and to social responsibility duties.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• 1 year Assistant Manager/Supervisor Retail experience.
• Industry experience welcomed; full training provided if lacking.
