Job Description:

Equans currently has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1530 / 1000 to 1830, shift times alternating weekly. Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Undertake maintenance of the building, including PPM and reactive maintenance, and new installation tasks, as directed by the PPM schedule and management using appropriate trade skills
  • Order materials and services as required using the ordering system and updating records, certify satisfactory delivery/completion
  • Oversee specialist contractors
  • Work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0700 to 1530 / 1000 to 1830 (shift times alternating weekly)

Qualifications

  • Current M&E qualifications, such as City & Guilds / BTEC National Diploma / NVQ 2 or equivalent in a relevant electrical or mechanical trade discipline are desirable
  • Experience in building services is required
  • Willingness to attain cross‑skilling and undertake training
  • General handyperson/building skills are essential
  • Good IT skills
  • Flexibility, good customer service and communication skills are also vital
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety procedures; formal training an advantage
