Trainee TSCM Engineer / TSCM Engineer
We have a number of exciting opportunities for full-time Trainee TSCM Engineers to join our growing team based in either Bath or London. The successful candidate will receive the very best in TSCM training delivered in our training academy to kick start a new career in the field of counter-eavesdropping.
The role requires someone with a strong work ethic and an eager willingness to accept and meet challenges and learn new skills.
Background knowledge in electronics, communications or IT may be beneficial.
Purpose of Role
The primary purpose of the role will be to undertake Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Inspections of sensitive facilities in the UK and around the world as part of a Technical Security Team. TSCM Engineers perform TSCM Services to detect and neutralise threats such as bugs, eavesdropping devices, and other forms of surveillance used to gather intelligence or conduct espionage.
When not deployed on task, you will be required to support various activities including equipment maintenance, administrative duties and research & development.
Principal Activities:
- Conduct physical and electronic sweeps for surveillance devices (bugs, cameras, tracking devices, etc.) in high-security areas.
- Utilise specialised equipment like spectrum analysers, non-linear junction detectors (NLJD), and thermal cameras to identify surveillance threats.
- Provide recommendations for protecting physical spaces and communication systems against eavesdropping.
Skills
- Strong experience in the use of IT including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and data input onto databases.
- Ability to detect and analyse complex technical issues related to surveillance.
- Quick thinking and adaptability when responding to threats or incidents.
- Ability to carefully examine environments and communications for subtle or hidden surveillance devices.
- Ability to produce clear, comprehensive reports and communicate findings to clients and/or senior management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with clients, security teams and other stakeholders.
- The individual must be hardworking and have strong communication skills.
- The individual must be able to travel extensively overseas.
- The individual must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
- The individual must work well as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Minimum – Maths & English GCSE (Grade 4 or above).
- Beneficial – HNC or HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or HNC/HND in Computer Science or BSc in Computer Science
