Role
Maintenance Operative – Bank (The Home) – Abbeyfield Court, 46 Locks Road, Locks Heath, Southampton, SO31 6BF. Hours: Flexible hours available as this is a bank agreement. Pay: £13.39–£13.49 p/h.
Responsibilities
- All repairs are carried out effectively and quickly, and to a good standard.
- Work is carried out safely, with adherence to relevant building and construction related regulations.
- Readily identifiable issues are reported and addressed to minimise impact, risk and damage.
- Report any emergencies to Property Services.
- Complete and maintain the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the building and its environment, including painting and decoration of residents’ rooms.
- Ensure strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Make minor adjustments to windows, doors, restrictors, and door closers.
- Maintain the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the buildings and their environment.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date and completed.
Pay & Benefits
- In line with your casual (bank) worker assignment agreement, we offer competitive pay that is benchmarked regularly and in line with those of our employed staff in similar roles.
- Depending on the number of hours you work, you will accrue leave at an equivalent rate of 31 days paid leave in a full calendar year, inclusive of bank/public holidays (pro rata).
- You will be provided with mandatory training to get you started, as part of a comprehensive induction. For future assignments, you will be expected to keep your mandatory training up to date.
About You
- Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills, and experience in providing maintenance services to other clients.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people, read and write to a good standard, and be computer literate.
- Good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations and the ability to assess and manage risk.
