Job Description:

Group Health and Safety Manager  £55,000–£60,000 Multi-Site

Want a Health & Safety role where you can actually make things happen?

This could be the one.

We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of H&S across a growing manufacturing group, working across multiple UK sites and partnering with managers and teams to make safety a genuine part of everyday operations.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days buried in paperwork. You’ll be out in the business, spotting risks, solving problems, improving standards and influencing people — with the freedom to challenge where needed and make a tangible difference.

What you will be doing:

  • Take ownership of H&S standards across multiple engineering sites
  • Carry out audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Keep RAMS, policies and procedures practical, effective and compliant
  • Manage contractor controls and permit-to-work systems
  • Oversee higher-risk activities including hot works and confined spaces
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, getting to the root cause rather than simply ticking a box
  • Help maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems
  • Work alongside managers and employees to raise safety awareness and accountability
  • Provide practical advice on H&S legislation and best practice
  • Build strong relationships across the business and confidently challenge when something isn’t right

What we are looking for:

Someone who knows their H&S inside out — but equally importantly, knows how to bring people with them.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven H&S management experience
  • A background in engineering and/or construction or a similarly hands-on environment
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent – essential
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
  • Experience with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001
  • Confidence to influence, challenge and advise at all levels
  • A practical, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • The resilience and flexibility to work across multiple sites

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive annual leave allowance
  • Company pension
  • Flexible employee benefits
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Employee discount opportunities
  • Support for professional development
  • Clear opportunities to progress
  • Supportive working environment

If you’re looking for a role where you’re trusted to take ownership, given the opportunity to influence change and aren’t afraid to get out from behind the desk, this could be a fantastic next step.
