Financial Operations Associate – Common Depository Vault

London

Contract until end of 2026

HSBC are currently searching for a Common Depository Vault Associate to join their team in London. Within this role, you would be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Primary Issuances into the ICSDs for those transactions that ISV are appointed as Issuing and Paying Agent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all new issuances into the ICSDs the Global Notes are created and held to meet our regulatory requirements around Common Depository
  • Creation and authentication of Global Notes
  • Complete the daily activities around the management of the Common Depository Vault and ensure that the Vault is maintained to a high level of accuracy
  • Reviewing processes in order to identify areas of improvements relating to automation and/or streamlining, risk reduction or control enhancements. Along with driving these changes through to the implementation stage
  • Completion of daily controls and trackers to ensure all activities are recorded and actions completed.
  • Establish and maintain operational relationships with peer group client contacts and London CSMs/TMs to ensure strong and efficient processes and open, honest dialogue
  • Provide operational support and assistance to the Common Depositary, New Issues, Rate Fix teams in the Global Service Centre in Kolkata
  • Assist with testing in UAT environment in relation to system enhancements.
  • Manage Ad-Hoc projects that may arise, through working with stakeholders, managing actions points and ensuring timely delivery
  • Support the Vault Manager in managing any Internal or External Audit and providing the necessary samples requested by stakeholders

Experience / Skills Required

  • Experience in a Corporate Trust environment
  • Prior settlements experience in either ICSDs or settlements
  • Knowledge of capital markets products and processes desirable
  • Strong communication & client service skills required to build and enhance client relationships
  • An ability to multi-task and manage frequently changing priorities
  • Previous experience around CASS regulatory requirements would be beneficial
  • An ability to work accurately and effectively with minimum supervision
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting colleagues where required
