Job Description:

The Role

We are looking for a driven and creative Marketing Manager / Senior Marketing Manager to help accelerate the growth of Howden’s Natural Resources global practice.

Howden’s Natural Resources practice brings together a global team of specialists to deliver tailored insurance and risk solutions across energy, power and mining. Combining deep technical expertise with exceptional market relationships, the team supports clients worldwide in navigating complex risks across both traditional and transition sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver high-impact marketing for a fast-growing global practice. You will play a central role in bringing the Natural Resources story to life by developing bold, insight-led campaigns that engage clients, raise profile and support commercial growth. Working closely with senior stakeholders across broking and claims, as well as marketing colleagues and external partners, you’ll be at the heart of a dynamic, internationally connected team.

Embedded within the Natural Resources practice and supported by the wider Howden Specialty Marketing team, you’ll benefit from a friendly and supportive team, ongoing development through regular training and 1:1s and the opportunity to make a real impact in a high-growth environment.

We are predominantly office-based (at least three days per week) to enable collaboration and connection, while offering flexibility to work from home regularly.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and deliver the marketing strategy in partnership with the senior team and with support from the marketing team
  • Build trusted relationships with the Natural Resources team, aligning activity to commercial priorities
  • Bring the client value proposition to life through compelling marketing assets and content
  • Lead the delivery of integrated, multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, email, events, video and PR
  • Create engaging, high-quality communications for internal and external audiences
  • Drive thought leadership and insight-led content in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Manage budgets, timelines and resources to deliver impactful campaigns
  • Track performance, generate insights and continuously enhance marketing effectiveness

Who we’re looking for

  • A confident communicator with strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management across diverse, international teams
  • Highly organised, with a proactive and delivery-focused mindset
  • Energetic, entrepreneurial and self-starting
  • Broad experience across the marketing mix, including digital, social, events and PR
  • International marketing experience is advantageous
  • Strong marketing experience in a similar role
  • Experience in natural resources or insurance is beneficial, but not essential

Professional qualifications and education

We welcome applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds. A degree or qualifications in Marketing, Business or English would be advantageous.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define.

Our business succeeds by allowing our people to make a mark in the areas they care about most: personal development, volunteering, and fundraising for charity, or creating new insurance products that address society’s greatest challenges.

And we know that separate home and work lives don’t really exist. If you’re happy and healthy at home, you’re more likely to be happy and fulfilled at work – and vice versa. That’s why we do our best to support our people in every aspect of their lives.

Diversity and Inclusion

At Howden we value diversity – there is no one Howden ‘personality type’. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new
  • We support each other, in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges
  • We are determined to make a positive difference, at work and beyond

We consider our people our chief competitive advantage and as such we treat colleagues, candidates, clients, and business partners with equality, fairness, and respect – regardless of age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, or family circumstances.

Reasonable adjustments

We’re committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs. Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you’re excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
