Our client is an industry-leading provider of industrial automation solutions. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead market expansion.
This role focuses on identifying and securing high-value projects across key sectors, including automotive, pharmaceuticals, and FMCG.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full sales lifecycle—from initial prospecting and technical consultation to closing complex, multi-year contracts.
This position requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between complex engineering capabilities and the commercial needs of C-suite stakeholders.
The Role
- Strategic Prospecting: Identify and penetrate new market segments, leveraging industry trends in Industry 4.0 and IIoT.
- Technical Consultation: Work closely with the engineering team to tailor automation solutions (PLC, SCADA, Robotics) to specific client pain points.
- Account Management: Cultivate long-term relationships with existing Tier-1 accounts to ensure renewal and upsell opportunities.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate CRM forecast, ensuring a consistent flow of opportunities to meet and exceed annual GP targets.
The Person
- Sector Expertise: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development role within the Industrial Automation or Control Systems sector.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to present technical solutions to non-technical audiences, specifically at the Director level.
- Education: A degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable, though equivalent commercial experience will be considered.
- Flexible Working: A modern approach to work-life balance with hybrid office/home options.
