Guinness Property is looking for a passionate and driven Service Manager to join our London team. As our new Service Manager, you will empower our Responsive Repairs team in London to deliver high-quality, first-time-fix repairs in residents’ homes across the region. You will manage the team’s productivity, quality of work and progress by undertaking regular inspections of work. You will also manage approved contractor performance and compliance and ensure the relevant resources are in place. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will predominantly be based in our central London office, with some field-based work and the flexibility for occasional working from home. We are a customer-focused organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. To thrive in this role, you will have a trade background, strong people-management skills, enjoy working with customers and taking pride in going the extra mile.
Responsibilities
- Operative management: Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues with regards to the appropriate uses of materials in line with legislative standards and company guidelines.
- Complaint resolution: Ensure that timely investigations and response to complaints are made and that workflow tasks are completed, and systems updated.
- Commercial awareness: Build relationships with the commercial teams and ensure that the work carried out by contractors is within budget by ensuring the necessary financial controls are exercised.
- Health & safety: Ensure that the company’s obligations relating to Health and Safety, and other statutory regulations are adhered to through monitoring of safe working practices.
Qualifications
- Trade NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a trade.
- Up-to-date knowledge of building maintenance, decent homes standards and safety legislation.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence as a company vehicle will be provided.
- Experience of successfully delivering an excellent customer focused repair service.
