Maintenance Engineer

Hourly rate: £40 per hour

Shift: Day – Sun to Thurs

Location: North Wales

Responsibilities

• Reactive breakdown support to minimise production disruption
• Execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities
• Electrical & Mechanical fault diagnosis using drawings, diagnostics, and equipment history
• Identification and rectification of recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions
• Support for continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and uptime
• Collaboration with production and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operation
• Assistance with machinery modifications, upgrades, and repair works as required
• All services delivered in compliance with site health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Qualifications and Experience

• Time‑served engineer or demonstrable equivalent industry experience
• Multi‑Skilled Capabilities with proven capability in FMCG manufacturing environments
• Experience working with 3‑phase electrical systems
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters, and safety circuits
• Experience with I/O PLC fault‑finding (Siemens / Allen Bradley or similar)
• Experience with automated food production and packaging equipment
• Able to work with minimal direction, managing workload and priorities independently
• Strong communication skills when liaising with site stakeholders
