Overview
Exciting opportunity to work with the Midhurst Macmillan Palliative care team. The role is part of a multi‑disciplinary team providing comprehensive palliative nursing care, advice and support to patients and carers in the community across three Clinical Commissioning Groups covering approximately 400 square miles. You will collaborate with Community Nurses, Primary Care Teams, other health care professionals and agencies to meet complex patient care needs. Communication is a key part of the role; you will manage challenging conversations with sensitivity and understanding.
Visa & Eligibility
This is a part‑time role. Due to recent changes in UK immigration and visa rules, the role is unlikely to be eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Responsibilities
- Use Trust documents, Instruction Charts and Care Plans to plan patient care.
- Understand key end‑of‑life issues and trends.
- Participate in organisational tasks such as planning off‑duty or annual leave.
- Assist with the day‑to‑day coordination of care and allocation, and take responsibility for Support Workers and Student Nurses as a mentor (you will not manage these team members or participate in recruitment or dismissal processes).
- Participate in mandatory, statutory and developmental education and training.
- Adhere to policies such as Infection Control, Medical Devices, Health and Safety and Information Governance, regarding equipment issued such as laptops and mobile telephones.
- Develop or review strategies, plans, policies or procedures, stating which department, team or service they relate to and describing any internal or external reporting requirements.
- Carry out project planning or organisational tasks such as organising meetings or events, managing projects and setting rotas, possibly involving formal projects via the Programme Management Office (PMO) and acting as project manager or Senior Responsible Officer (SRO).
