DATA ENGINEERING LEAD
London (Hybrid) up to £120,000 + bonus
This is a standout opportunity to join a high‑performing private equity firm where you will sit at the centre of data and AI, shaping how modern data platforms are built and scaled across a diverse portfolio.
THE ROLE
You will be working hands‑on across multiple companies to design, build and scale modern data platforms that underpin analytics, decision‑making and AI adoption. This role combines technical delivery, architectural design and senior stakeholder advisory. You will operate at both strategic and execution level, often with direct C‑suite exposure. Key responsibilities include:
- Building and evolving end‑to‑end data platforms and core data architecture across portfolio companies
- Acting as the data engineering authority, advising on platform design, scalability trade‑offs and common pitfalls
- Ensuring data infrastructure is AI‑ready, enabling advanced analytics, AI applications and agentic AI use cases
- Working directly with CEOs, CFOs and leadership teams to align data initiatives with commercial outcomes
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Hands‑on data engineering, with a track record of building modern data platforms end to end
- Strong SQL and Python
- Data architecture and platform design, including scalability, reliability and maintainability considerations
- Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to senior, non‑technical stakeholders
- Operating in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments with a pragmatic, value‑led mindset
