About the role
I’m working with a scaling TechBio company that embeds directly into biopharma drug development programmes, bringing modern data engineering and analytics to scientific and clinical teams who need to make better decisions, faster.
They’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to take real ownership of the modelling layer – the dbt project, the semantic layer, the Looker dashboards – and set the standards the rest of the data team builds against.
This is a genuinely senior, hands-on position. You’ll be writing and reviewing code, shaping technical direction, and working closely with medical teams and epidemiologists to translate complex clinical questions into well-modelled, trustworthy data.

Requirements:
- Strong command of complex SQL and a clear point of view on how production dbt projects should be structured, tested, and maintained
- Hands-on BigQuery experience – partitioning, clustering, cost optimisation, performance tuning at scale
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production LookML, including views, explores, derived tables, and access controls
- Comfortable working across GCP services and understanding how a modern data platform fits together
- Able to set technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders across clinical, product, and commercial teams
- A genuine interest in biotech, life sciences, or health data – curiosity about the domain, not just the stack
