Job summary
We are looking for an efficient and hardworking SEN Casework Officer to ensure the right statutory provision is available at the right time for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key responsibilities
- Co‑ordinating the assessment, writing and review of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and other aspects of special educational needs of individual pupils.
- Managing a caseload related to a defined group of schools, colleges or geographical area.
- Working closely with parents, carers and professionals from voluntary and statutory agencies.
- Demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication, prioritisation and negotiation skills.
- Working to challenging deadlines with a flexible and supportive team environment.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and customer care within the service.
Qualifications and skills
- Background in education, social care or special educational needs is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and relational skills with parents, carers and professionals.
- Strong communication, prioritisation and negotiation abilities.
- Efficiency, meticulousness, and ability to work at pace under deadline pressure.
- Flexible approach and willingness to work within a supportive team structure.
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro‑rata if the position is less than 37 hours or term‑time only.
