We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.
About the Role
HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 male inmates. This full‑time position offers an annual salary of £43,609.00 – £49,175.00 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Hours
- Monday – Friday
- 37.5 hours per week
- 8 am – 4 pm
- 1 weekend every 4 – 6 weeks

Candidate requirements
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you’ll be doing
- Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients’ mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload, assessing physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
- Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patients’ feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
- Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients’ care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

- NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Experience working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Experience working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multidisciplinary environment
